The Society of St. Vincent de Paul

Let us do our duty well; let us go straight to God;

let us work to become very humble, very patient, very mortified, and very charitable.

St. Vincent de Paul

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a lay Catholic organization whose mission is to live the Gospel message by serving Christ through the poor with love, respect, justice and joy.

At Blessed Trinity Parish, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP) helps over 60 families within our parish boundaries with monthly grocery gift cards, food, winter coats, furniture, school supplies, laptops, and RESP top-ups.   The SSVP also offers an 8-day camping experience at Marygrove Camp, situated on Georgian Bay, near Penang, for children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy a camping adventure.  The Ozanam Education Fund was also established to support selected applicants in helping find suitable employment or continue with post-secondary education.

All of this help is made possible by the generous donations of our Blessed Trinity parishioners.

In Need of Help?

Any person or family within the Blessed Trinity Parish  boundaries, of any or no faith denomination, are encouraged to reach out to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul for support.  The process is simple.  Call the parish office at 416-226-0262 and follow the prompts for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.  Phone messages are picked up twice daily.  A representative will reach out for more information and to schedule a home visit.

Please note, that the parish office does not distribute grocery vouchers.

All requests for support must be made through the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

Donations of Clothing and Household Items

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul also collects donations of lightly used clothing, shoes, and linens on specific Bundle-Up Weekends throughout the year.   Donations cannot be left at the parish;  neither the parish nor Blessed Trinity's Society of St. Vincent de Paul are able to accept donations outside of the Bundle-Up Weekend.  Blessed Trinity's next Bundle-Up Weekend is:

October 26 and 27, 2024

Financial Donations to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul

Donation envelopes are available from the Parish Office for your convenience.  A tax receipt will be issued for all donation over $20.00.  Envelopes can be placed in the collections basket during Mass or left with the office.

The St. Vincent de Paul 'poor box' is always available in the foyer for contributions, as well.  Every little bit helps!

And finally, online donations to the Blessed Trinity Society of St. Vincent de Paul conference is available.  Be sure to indicate Blessed Trinity Parish Conference, so that the donations will support our neighbours in need.
