Confirmation
It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain,
so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He may give you.
John 15:16
When we are baptized, we are welcomed into the life of the Catholic community and we enter into a special relationship with God and the community of believers (the Church). Confirmation brings an increase and deepening of baptismal grace and unites us more firmly to Christ, increases the gifts of the Holy Spirit in us and gives us a special strength of the Holy Spirit to spread and defend the faith by word and action.
All youth in grade 7 and above, homeschooled, or attending a Catholic, public, or private school, are welcome to register with Blessed Trinity Parish for the sacrament of Confirmation using the form below. You will be required to submit a copy of your child's Baptismal Certificate. If you do not have a copy, and your child was baptized at Blessed Trinity Parish, please complete this request form; otherwise please contact the parish where your child was baptized. This parish will be able to give you a copy of the certificate.
Registration for the 2025-2026 Confirmation Sacramental Preparation Program closes on October 17, 2025.
Why be Confirmed?
Through the sacrament of Confirmation, Jesus gives us:
- an increase in the divine life
- a new and deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit
- an increase of strength to profess, defend, and spread the faith.
Our new relationship with the Holy Spirit after Confirmation is similar to that of the apostles after Pentecost where they were enlightened to be better able to understand the mysteries of God and strengthened to be able to bear witness to Jesus.
Sponsor Information
As with the sacrament of Baptism, the candidate is to have a sponsor. The sponsor for Confirmation does not need to be the same sponsor/godparent for Baptism. The sponsor:
- must be at least 16 years of age
- must be a practicing Catholic who has been confirmed
- must be in good standing with the Catholic Church
- must live a life of faith which befits the role to be undertaken
- cannot be the father or mother of the one to be confirmed
Program Schedule
Grade 7 and 8 students from Blessed Trinity School and St. Agnes registered in the program will be taught in class during class time, weekly, starting the week of January 5th through the week of March 6th.
All other youth will attend our in-parish program on Thursday evenings from 6:30pm to 8pm on the following dates:

Program Offering
A $75.00 program offering is requested to help cover the cost of materials, the retreat, and administration. This fee can be submitted at the Information Session (see details below). If you are not able to make this offering, please send an email to Tanya at btfamilylife@gmail.com for subsidy arrangements; the inability to pay will not be a hindrance to receiving the sacrament.
Attendance
Alot of material is covered during each class. If the candidate is absent for more than one session during the program and/or the candidate is unable to attend the retreat, we will meet with you to discuss if perhaps the sacrament of Confirmation should be received at a later date.
Information Session
A mandatory Information Session for all parents and candidates will be held on November 8, 2025 at 8:45am. The session will start with a short prayer service followed by information on the program, key dates, and expectations. The candidate will sign their Commitment Card at this meeting, as well. Please make every attempt to join us at this information session as this session completes your registration process.
Confirmation Retreat
We are excited for the candidates to take part in a Confirmation Retreat to be led by Hopestone Catholic Formation Inc on March 7, 2026 from 10:00am to 3:30pm.
